Lycopene
Belonging to the carotenoid group, Lycopene has a non-provitamin A activity. Evidence already shows that its regular consumption reduces the risk of atherosclerosis, acute myocardial infarction, and thrombosis. Besides being a strong antioxidant, studies indicate that it may help reduce both urinary symptoms and the levels of PSA (prostate specific antigen) in patients with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH).
Resveratrol
In addition to its antioxidant properties, Resveratrol also has anti-inflammatory properties, therefore playing an important role in lowering the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, since it helps in controlling blood cholesterol levels, reduces the formation of arterial plaques and also the hardening and thickening of the arterial walls.
